Kadin Chung (born September 5, 1998) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Whitecaps FC 2 in the USL.

Career

Chung grew up in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency Program in September 2011, making several appearances with their U-16 and U-18 teams.

Whitecaps FC

Whitecaps FC 2 signed Chung during the 2015 USL season and made his debut on September 13, 2015 against Orange County Blues. He would make one more substitute appearance that year. In the 2016 season, Chung established a starting spot at right-back and made the USL Team of the Week after making a crucial assist on a Kyle Greig goal in a 3-2 victory against Tulsa Roughnecks. Chung, along with fellow Whitecaps Academy products Matthew Baldisimo and Thomas Gardner were praised during the club’s USL playoff run in the 2016 USL season In December 2016, Whitecaps FC 2 announced that Chung would return to the club for the 2017 season.

International

Chung was part of Canada’s U-17 squad which participated at the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. He scored in a 3-1 victory against Haiti and started every game of the tournament at left-back. In 2015, he was named the Canada U17 Male Player of the Year for his performances during the tournament. On 17 March 2016, he was called up to the Canada U-20 squad in their two games against England and scored a goal to open the scoring in a 2-1 victory. In August 2016, he was called up to the U-20 team for a pair of friendlies against Costa Rica
