Ondre Moore (born March 17, 1976), better known by his stage name Swifty McVay, is an American rapper, best known for his work with the Detroit-based hip hop group D12. He was accepted into the group as a replacement for Bugz.
Career
1990s
In 1995 to 1996 Swift was in another Detroit rap group called “Da Rabeez” which soon disbanded from joining D12.
2000s
Swifty was accepted into D12 after Bugz was killed in 1999. He appeared in both D12’s Devil’s Night (2001) and D12 World (2004). He also made an appearance on Eminem’s compilation album Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, on a track called “Whatever You Want” that also featured Kon Artis, released in December 5, 2006. Following the death of rapper Proof in April 2006, D12 became inactive for some time before reuniting to appear on Eminem’s second compilation album Shady XV, on a track called “Bane”.
2010s
In 2017, Swifty released his debut solo album Grey Blood on February 17, 2017.
Personal life
Legal troubles
Swift was arrested in Novi, Michigan on April 21, 2006, after failing to appear in court.
It was due to his attendance as an honorary pallbearer at the funeral of group member Proof. Already on probation for a DUI offence, for which he’d served two days in October 2005, he was sentenced by District Court Judge Brian MacKenzie to 93 days in jail for violating the terms of the probation. It resulted in the stalling of recording for D12’s slated third album. Following his release, work commenced on the album.
