Yuri Andreyevich Kolokolnikov (Russian: Юрий Андреевич Колокольников; born 15 December 1980) is a Russian actor. He appeared in more than forty films since 1998. Kolokolnikov is best known for his performance as Styr in the television series Game of Thrones.
Life and career
Yuri Kolokolnikov was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. My parents were divorced, and the boy with his mother, a translator has repeatedly changed his place of residence. Up to 10 years lived in Kamchatka, USSR, in Canada and USA. Besides Russian Kolokolnikov, long time, he was also a citizen of Canada and USA.
According to the most Kolokolnikov, the child was naughty and uncontrollable. Unable to cope with the upbringing of his son, his mother sent him back to Russia to his father.
Almost immediately after his arrival in Moscow, he went to study in film school and became involved in children’s productions. Soon his father takes him to audition for the director Savva Kulish, and the boy take a small role in the film waif “Iron Curtain”.
The rents external examinations for the last two classes of high school and submits documents in the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute.
In 2000, immediately after graduation, he went to Hollywood. During the year, he lives in Los Angeles and New York, working part-time as a waiter, a courier, a loader. Unable to break into the big cinema Kolokolnikov returned to Moscow.
Kolokolnikov met with director Kirill Serebrennikov, who invites him for a role in the television series Diary of a killer in the staging of “Sweet Bird of Youth” at the theater Sovremennik Theatre. The premiere took place in 2002.
In 2013, he dictated the text of the annual educational action “Total dictation” on the MSU Faculty of Journalism.
In 2014, he played the role of Magnar Tennov Steer in the fourth season of the television series Game of Thrones.
Personal life
He is married to actress Kseniya Rappoport, daughter Sofia, born January 2011.
